Samuel Piccone is from Colorado. He is the author of Pupa, which was awarded Editors’ Choice in the 2017 Rick Campbell Chapbook Prize with Anhinga Press. He holds an MFA in poetry from North Carolina State University and an MA in writing and publishing from DePaul University. His poems have received prizes from Bayou’s Kay Murphy Prize for Poetry, Frontier Poetry’s Award for New Poets, Grist’s ProForma Contest, and the North Carolina State Poetry Contest . His work has appeared or is forthcoming in several publications including, Sycamore Review, Frontier Poetry, Passages North, Southern Indiana Review, Washington Square Review, Denver Quarterly, RHINO, and The Pinch. He serves as poetry editor at Raleigh Review, and is a lecturer at Iowa State University.
